Owner Blair Howe established Lake Preston Lime at Finn Road, Myalup in 1996. Blair came into the limestone mining and crushing industry with 30 years of experience throughout the world in the mining industry. Blair and his family continue to run the business to the present day.
Over the years the equipment has been continually upgraded to improve efficiency and product quality. The heart of the plant is a 150 kilowatt electric motor driving a CVR crusher with 2 180 kilogram hammers spinning at 300 kph. The crushed limestone is screened to individual product requirements. Re-crushing and screening is carried out for the finer grade products.
The computerised 100 tonne weighbridge is 30 metres long, making it suitable for fast, efficient loading of all size rigs without the need to move. The weighbridge is certified for the Main Roads Mass Management Scheme which allows higher loading for trucks registered with the scheme. There is high pressure water available at the weighbridge for those that need to damp down a load. Because the weighbridge is registered, it is open to the public and can be used by companies to weigh cattle, grain, hay, etc.

24 hours per day with a floodlit loading area
A cleanout area is available for incoming trucks that may be back loading.
The ablution block is 100 metres from the weighbridge, attached to the southern end of the brick making shed. Our trucking friends and visitors enjoy having access to the hot shower, toilet and cuppa making facilities as well as a fridge.
